We were quite surprised to see no block or report option on other users’ profiles. This means that should we come across any issues with other profiles, we need to contact their customer support to report this, via telephone or by filling in a contact form, which can sometimes be inconvenient.
Fake Profiles
In their terms and conditions part C, they confirm they don’t do any identity checks on any of their website users, which means there's no way of telling whether the user is fake or genuine. Additionally, part G, also confirms that profiles on the site are imaginary and will be associated with ‘hosts’, meaning random people will be using these profiles to communicate with you for entertainment purposes.
Final Thoughts
Overall, we were quite disappointed with the My Dirty Neighbour website. The actual platform itself is user friendly and we didn’t have any issues, but there weren't a lot of positives to speak about. The site being free to sign up, and having no advertisements while you’re speaking to other users, were probably the only positive points.
Aside from that though, the site admits to operating fake profiles to entertain users and keep them spending money to chat. What’s more, there’s no verification needed other than email, which begs the question whether there are any real users on the site at all.
The site was overall quite expensive as well, especially when looking at the credit packages. The premium memberships might seem relatively cheap at first sight, but when you actually look at what benefits you get, it’s not really worth the price.
